Diploma takeoff: Labyrinth of War

The subject of my diploma at the University of Arts Berlin was "The labyrinth" - it was inspired by the Argentinian writer Jorge Luis Borges and his short stories. They often involved the nature of time and labyrinths or rather the "Eternal return" of certain eras.

My first idea was to create labyrinths of war - in this case World War II. The paths are formed by (destroyed) buildings and the labyrinth includes famous historical sites like the Reichstag. Soldiers are aimlessly running around in it, showing the labyrinth as a symbol of aberration. I wanted to make a series of posters showing different wars and human frenzy ...
fortunately I decided to drop that concept for several reasons including the risk of total depression..
